The organisation is entering a strategic phase of operational transformation and growth acceleration, focused on modernising systems, reinforcing governance and enhancing financial performance across its regional network.
Project Description:
The Interim Chief Financial Officer will play a pivotal role in steering the financial and operational agenda of the company’s Romanian organisation. Reporting to the General Manager locally and functionally to Group Finance, the CFO will ensure performance transparency, governance compliance and the effective transformation of financial, reporting and accounting processes to support sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the finance, accounting and reporting function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, management and statutory reporting, and ensuring alignment with international governance standards.
- Enhance controlling and performance-reporting frameworks to deliver actionable insights and support the commercial sales and marketing teams in Romania and the region.
Implement modern finance and IT-enabled systems to drive process efficiency, scalable reporting, robust accounting controls, and data-driven decision-making. - Act as finance business partner to the General Manager and regional commercial leadership, enabling the sales organisation via strong finance governance, scenario analysis and profitability oversight.
- Strengthen governance, internal control, compliance and audit readiness, promoting integrity and transparency across finance and administration.
Deliver leadership continuity and capability building within the local finance team, ensuring sustainable hand-over and operational resilience.
This is a high-visibility, short-term interim assignment requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on operational execution in a commercially driven, international environment. The role offers the opportunity to shape the finance transformation of a leading global healthcare brand in a key Central and Eastern European market.
Interim Manager Required Skills:
This assignment calls for an accomplished finance executive with a proven track record in international, commercial organisations and interim assignments.
- Former CFO, Finance Director or Senior Controller with experience in interim, transformation or performance improvement roles
- Strong background in commercial finance, accounting, reporting and governance in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, FMCG or life-sciences
- Demonstrated ability to lead IT-enabled finance system upgrades, reporting transformation and analytics-driven decision-making
- Strategic yet pragmatic leader, comfortable working with expatriate management teams, and experienced in sales and marketing-driven business environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling clear decision support, leadership of teams and cross-functional collaboration
- Fluent in English; Romanian language skills are welcome but not essential
- Resilient, adaptable leader with proven capability to deliver measurable value in a defined interim timeframe
