239 Interim CFO – Private Equity Deal Modelling

About Our Client:

Our client is a private investment firm focused on value creation through special situations and strategic acquisitions. Operating across Europe and select international markets, the firm is known for its entrepreneurial approach and deep sector expertise across real estate, manufacturing companies, and alternative investments. With a lean internal structure and a growing portfolio, it partners closely with operational leadership to drive long-term returns. The current mandate supports the acquisition of a distressed manufacturing subsidiary in the DACH region, part of a larger industrial group undergoing divestment. The asset is underperforming and requires immediate financial validation and short-term stabilisation as part of a carve-out.

Project Description:

This is a critical interim assignment to provide financial clarity and strategic insight during the final stages of a distressed asset acquisition. The interim executive will report directly to the lead investor and act as a trusted advisor in shaping the financial roadmap for turnaround.

  • Interim Finance Executive reporting to the private equity partner
  • Mandate to validate internal forecasts and develop revised financial scenarios based on restructuring options
  • Deliverables include short-term cash flow forecasting, cost base analysis, and scenario modelling linked to headcount and facility optimisation
  • Operates as a pre-acquisition advisor, with potential to support post-deal transition and oversight
  • Requires fluency in German to interpret local financial documentation and engage with site-level data
  • High-impact, time-sensitive role with direct influence on investment decision-making

Interim Manager Required Skills:

This role suits a senior finance professional with a track record in interim executive leadership, particularly in pre-deal or early-stage post-merger integration contexts.

  • Former interim CFO, finance transformation lead, or transaction support executive
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing or multi-site operations
  • Strong capabilities in financial modelling, cost structure analysis, and restructuring scenario planning
  • Pragmatic, commercially minded, and able to challenge assumptions constructively
  • Politically astute and culturally adaptable, with the ability to operate independently and remotely
  • Fluent in German, with proven ability to interpret and analyse German-language financials

This assignment offers a rare opportunity to shape the financial foundation of a turnaround from day one. CE Interim welcomes expressions of interest from qualified professionals with relevant experience and availability.
