About Our Client:

We are hiring a permanent Plant Manager for a well-established international production site in northeastern Hungary, part of a confidential German-headquartered industrial group. The company is a long-standing global player in precision-engineered steel-based components, supplying clients in safety-critical and mechanically demanding sectors such as vertical transport, construction, and energy infrastructure.

Project Description:

This is a full-site leadership role. You will be empowered to take full command of day-to-day operations – restoring structure, driving results, and rebuilding production discipline. While local support is available, the expectation is for visible, self-driven leadership on-site. Responsibilities include:
  • Full-Scope Site Leadership: Manage production, quality, maintenance, logistics, and plant-level support functions.
  • Daily Shopfloor Discipline: Re-establish structured routines: visual KPI boards, shift targets, walk-arounds, follow-ups.
  • Performance Uplift: Reduce scrap and rework, improve output efficiency, and address key bottlenecks in precision processes.
  • Team Enablement: Strengthen middle management, coach team leaders, and build trust and accountability across shifts.
  • HQ Partnership: Report directly to the Group’s operations leadership in Germany; partner locally with the commercial admin head.Cost and KPI Control: Influence daily cost tracking and production KPIs – this includes hands-on P&L relevance at the site level.
Why this opportunity?
  • The site is stable, but operational performance must improve
  • You’ll have a clear mandate and freedom to act, not corporate red tape
  • Group HQ is pragmatic, present, and supportive – they want results, not showmanship
  • You’ll lead something real, with long-term visibility and respect
What’s on offer:
  • Competitive salary (defined in agreement with the right candidate)
  • Company car with unlimited personal mileage
  • Stable long-term role with impact, autonomy, and trust
  • Full support to succeed – including onboarding from CE Interim and direct access to Group stakeholders

Interim Manager Required Skills:

You are the kind of leader who doesn’t manage from behind a desk. You’re clear, hands-on, and earn trust through action. Must-Haves:
  • Proven track record as a Plant Manager or senior production leader in an industrial manufacturing setting
  • Experience in continuous production or mechanical/technical manufacturing (steel, cable, components, extrusion, etc.)
  • Hungarian fluency (daily team communication) and strong English skills (HQ interface)
  • Ability to work with structure, consistency, and a bias for execution
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience with German-owned businesses or international SMEs
  • Background in engineering or technical disciplines
  • Previous success in cultural integration roles—balancing HQ expectations with local reality
