About Our Client:

The Interim Production Director will assume full responsibility for production operations across ±500 -employee industrial manufacturing site in the Czech Republic, leading a large shopfloor organisation and ensuring uninterrupted output, quality and safety.

This is a high-accountability interim managerial role requiring strong operational authority, deep manufacturing expertise and proven delivery of cost reduction and operational excellence in industrial settings.

The production environment is high-mix and technically complex, involving advanced forming, heat treatment and precision processes. Customers operate in heavy industry sectors where quality, reliability and delivery performance are non-negotiable. The Interim Production Director will be expected to deliver visible results within the first three months, with clear improvements in performance metrics and operational stability.

Project Description:

The Interim Plant Manager will assume full operational leadership of a ±500-employee manufacturing site in the Czech Republic, ensuring stability, disciplined execution and visible leadership during a sensitive transition period.

This is a hands-on interim executive assignment requiring authority, operational credibility and proven experience in cost reduction and operational turnaround within industrial manufacturing.

  • Interim Plant Manager role in the Czech Republic, reporting to the Regional Operations Director within an international matrix
  • Primary mandate focused on stabilisation, governance reinforcement and operational turnaround following leadership change
  • Drive and accelerate ongoing cost reduction programmes to protect margin and cash flow
  • Maintain momentum of operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee delivery of active CAPEX projects and performance improvement plans
  • Lead a management team across production, engineering, maintenance, lean and technical functions
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and compliance standards
  • Prepare the site for a structured long-term succession solution

The plant operates a high-mix manufacturing model involving advanced forming, heat treatment and precision processes. Products are technically complex, quality-critical and integral to customers’ core production systems. The site is financially significant within the group and requires disciplined execution of cost reduction and operational turnaround measures without disrupting customer delivery.

The interim executive will be expected to establish rapid credibility on the shop floor, reinforce compliance and ethical standards, and deliver measurable performance improvement within the first three to six months.

Interim Manager Required Skills:

A senior production leader, typically a former Production Director, Manufacturing Manager or interim operations executive with experience in complex industrial environments.

  • Extensive experience leading production teams in heavy industry or advanced manufacturing
  • Hands-on background in high-mix manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated success in operational turnaround and performance recovery situations
  • Proven delivery of cost reduction and efficiency improvement programmes
  • Strong command of shopfloor leadership, workforce engagement and labour productivity management
  • Ability to operate effectively within international matrix organisations
  • Calm, authoritative and pragmatic leadership style during periods of organisational sensitivity
  • Strong data orientation with focus on KPIs, OEE and structured performance management
  • Fluent Czech speaker with strong English communication skills
