Our client is an international industrial manufacturing group headquartered in Western Europe, with established production operations in Poland.
The assignment concerns a manufacturing plant in the Krakow area employing approximately 300 people. The site operates continuously in a fast-paced 24/7 production environment where safety, quality, equipment reliability, productivity and delivery performance must remain under close control.
The plant is entering a critical period of operational and organisational change. Performance must be stabilised, management accountability strengthened and a structured manufacturing turnaround executed without interrupting production or customer deliveries.
Headquarters requires reliable visibility, stronger operational governance and measurable progress. The Polish organisation requires experienced leadership, clear priorities and disciplined execution across every shift.
The client needs an Interim Plant Manager who can establish authority immediately and lead the site through turnaround and restructuring.
The client’s identity and further information about the plant will be disclosed to qualified candidates under a signed non-disclosure agreement.

The Interim Plant Manager will assume full operational leadership of the Polish manufacturing site.
The initial priority will be to establish a fact-based understanding of the plant’s performance, management capability and operational risks. The Interim Plant Manager will identify the causes of underperformance, define the required corrective actions and lead their implementation.
The mandate combines operational stabilisation, manufacturing turnaround, organisational restructuring and management-team realignment.
A strong presence on the shop floor will be essential. The Interim Plant Manager must establish credibility with the plant leadership team, shift managers, supervisors and employees while maintaining clear communication with the Western European headquarters.
The assignment includes responsibility for:
- Assuming full operational leadership of a plant employing approximately 300 people
- Stabilising production across a continuous 24/7 manufacturing operation
- Conducting a rapid assessment of plant performance, operational risks, leadership capability and organisational effectiveness
- Establishing reliable visibility across safety, quality, output, delivery, downtime, scrap, productivity and manufacturing costs
- Identifying the operational and organisational causes of underperformance
- Preparing and executing a structured manufacturing turnaround plan
- Leading the agreed restructuring of the plant organisation and management responsibilities
- Strengthening accountability across the plant management team, shift leaders and frontline supervisors
- Establishing clear decision rights, escalation routes and performance ownership
- Restoring disciplined daily management, shift handovers, KPI reviews and corrective-action follow-up
- Improving coordination between production, maintenance, quality, engineering, planning, logistics, HR and finance
- Addressing production bottlenecks, equipment reliability, recurring downtime and operational losses
- Improving workforce planning and resource allocation across the shift structure
- Maintaining production continuity, customer service and workforce stability throughout the transformation
- Translating headquarters expectations into practical actions within the Polish operation
- Providing senior leadership with transparent reporting, clear milestones and reliable progress updates
- Building an operating model that can sustain performance after the interim assignment
- Preparing a controlled handover and knowledge transfer at the end of the mandate

- The ability to assess a manufacturing operation quickly and translate findings into immediate action
- Experience restoring daily management routines, KPI discipline and management accountability

- Experience implementing organisational change while maintaining production continuity
- The confidence to make difficult operational, organisational and leadership decisions

Experience in Poland or Central and Eastern European manufacturing operations will be highly valuable.
