We are offering an interim Senior Counsel opportunity with a global industrial engineering group delivering one of Europe’s most strategically significant infrastructure programmes. The organisation operates across multiple international markets and is entering a critical phase of large-scale project execution in Poland.
This assignment has been created to strengthen legal leadership during a period of complex contract execution, cross-border stakeholder management, and heightened regulatory oversight. Working alongside senior business leaders, the successful interim executive will help ensure that commercial decisions, contractual frameworks, and compliance obligations support the successful delivery of a high-value industrial programme.
Project Description:
This is a commercially focused legal leadership assignment supporting a complex engineering and infrastructure environment. The role combines strategic legal advisory with hands-on contract management, helping business leaders navigate commercial risk while enabling project delivery.
The successful interim manager will work closely with senior leadership across Poland and the wider Central and Eastern Europe region, providing practical legal guidance across multiple business functions.
The mandate includes:
- Serve as Senior Counsel, reporting to the regional legal leadership and acting as a trusted adviser to senior business stakeholders.
- Lead legal support for complex commercial contracts, procurement agreements, strategic partnerships, public procurement matters, and major negotiations.
- Provide commercially pragmatic legal advice that balances business objectives with regulatory and contractual risk.
- Support business transformation, operational excellence initiatives, and cross-functional decision making across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, finance, HR, compliance, and project teams.
- Strengthen governance, corporate compliance, and legal processes while maintaining alignment with Polish and European regulatory requirements.
- Manage external legal advisers and oversee dispute prevention, pre-litigation matters, investigations, and legal risk mitigation.
- Develop contractual standards, legal playbooks, and practical guidance that improve consistency across commercial operations.
- Contribute to strategic projects involving restructuring, corporate governance, and wider business transformation where required.
Interim Manager Required Skills:
The ideal candidate is an experienced interim legal executive or senior commercial lawyer with a strong track record of supporting complex industrial, engineering, infrastructure, or manufacturing businesses. They combine sound legal judgement with commercial awareness and are comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-value project environments where business decisions carry significant contractual and regulatory implications.
- Significant senior legal experience within industrial, engineering, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, or similarly regulated sectors.
- Proven expertise in negotiating complex commercial agreements, procurement contracts, strategic partnerships, and public procurement frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Polish and European legal and regulatory environments, including corporate governance, employment law, compliance, and commercial risk.
- Demonstrated ability to advise senior executives on commercially sensitive decisions while protecting long-term business interests.
- Experience managing external legal counsel, disputes, investigations, and regulatory matters.
- A pragmatic leadership style with the credibility to influence cross-functional stakeholders and support strategic business transformation.
- Ability to work confidently across international teams and complex stakeholder environments.
- Professional fluency in both Polish and English.
