About Our Client:

Our client is a Private Equity-backed industrial manufacturing group in Hungary with approximately 500 employees and annual revenues of around €50 million.

After a period of acquisition, integration, and transformation, the business has reached the next phase of value creation. The operational platform is in place, but profitability, cash generation, and cost discipline now require sharper focus.

The investment board is looking for stronger financial leadership to challenge the cost base, improve working capital performance, evaluate profitability across the business, and support informed commercial and operational decisions.

Project Description:

This is a 3-6 month interim restructuring mandate reporting directly to an international investment board.

The Interim Chief Finance Restructuring Officer will lead a focused programme to improve EBITDA, reduce costs, optimise working capital, and create stronger financial visibility across the business.

The assignment is not centred on statutory finance. The priority is to identify where value is being lost, where costs can be reduced, which projects or activities are genuinely profitable, and what actions are required to move the business towards a sustainable double-digit EBITDA margin.

Key priorities include:

• Lead cost reduction and cost optimisation initiatives across the organisation.
• Improve EBITDA through project, product, customer, and activity-level profitability analysis.
• Strengthen working capital management, including inventory, receivables, cash conversion, and liquidity.
• Build financial planning, forecasting, contingency, and scenario analysis tools for management and investors.
• Evaluate ongoing projects, investments, and resource allocation from a profitability perspective.
• Improve management reporting so financial information leads to action, accountability, and better decisions.
• Provide clear recommendations to the investment board on performance improvement priorities.

Interim Manager Required Skills:

You are a senior interim finance executive with a strong restructuring and value creation background.

You will bring:

• Experience as Interim CFO, Chief Restructuring Officer, Finance Transformation Director, Operating Partner, or similar senior finance leader.
• A practical track record of reducing costs and improving profitability in complex business environments.
• Strong ability to analyse project, product, customer, and operational profitability.
• Hands-on experience improving working capital, cash generation, and liquidity.
• Confidence working directly with investors, boards, shareholders, and senior leadership teams.
• The ability to challenge assumptions, identify value leakage, and turn financial analysis into concrete actions.
• A pragmatic, commercially minded leadership style suited to time-sensitive interim mandates.
• Manufacturing or industrial sector experience.
• Fluent Hungarian and English language skills.
