About Our Client:
Our client is a Swiss-owned industrial group business operating in engineer-to-order manufacturing, with a mid-sized production and commercial operation in Czech Republic.
The company serves international industrial customers across Central and Western Europe and operates in a demanding project manufacturing environment where material availability, supplier execution and production readiness directly affect delivery performance.
Following the go-live of a new ERP system and a sharp increase in customer orders, the business now requires an experienced Interim Supply Chain Director to restore control over material flow, stabilise the SCM organisation and support the controlled recovery of a significant order backlog.
Project Description:
This is a hands-on interim executive leadership mandate for a senior supply chain leader who can quickly bring structure, discipline and confidence into a pressured manufacturing environment.
The assignment is focused on restoring material availability, stabilising purchasing and logistics, and creating a reliable daily operating rhythm between supply chain, production planning, manufacturing and project execution.
- Act as Interim Supply Chain Director, reporting directly to the CEO.
- Lead the SCM, purchasing and logistics function across a Czech manufacturing operation.
- Take control of material flow into production and identify the critical shortages blocking customer deliveries.
- Establish daily crisis management routines, clear ownership, escalation paths and visible priorities.
- Stabilise the purchasing and warehouse teams, including roles, workload, communication and execution discipline.
- Improve coordination between purchasing, warehouse, planning, production, project management and the commercial process.
- Define and implement practical KPIs around material availability, overdue orders, supplier recovery and backlog impact.
- Support organisational or personnel changes where needed to secure sustainable operational performance.
Interim Manager Required Skills:
You are likely to be an experienced Interim Supply Chain Director, Interim SCM Director or senior operations-oriented supply chain leader with a track record of stepping into pressured manufacturing situations and restoring control quickly.
- You have led supply chain, purchasing, logistics or material planning functions in industrial manufacturing.
- You understand complex BOMs, customised production, supplier constraints and the operational realities of engineer-to-order manufacturing.
- You are confident working directly with the CEO and translating business urgency into clear operational action.
- You bring a hands-on leadership style and are comfortable being visible with teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- You can calm an overloaded team while also raising performance expectations and execution discipline.
- You are analytical enough to create visibility, but pragmatic enough to act before the perfect data exists.
- You have the authority and resilience to manage escalation, difficult priorities and fast decisions.
Key Requirements:
The successful candidate will need to bring proven interim experience in a manufacturing environment where speed, clarity and operational control are essential.
- Senior supply chain leadership experience in engineer-to-order or project manufacturing.
- Strong background in purchasing, material flow, logistics, planning interfaces and supplier escalation.
- Proven ability to stabilise teams under pressure after ERP go-live, operational disruption or backlog escalation.
- Experience leading daily management routines, KPI discipline and cross-functional recovery actions.
- Full-time on-site presence in the Czech Republic, Ostrava Region.
- Fluent Czech and English are required.
