A profitable, family-owned pharma group preparing its next generation of leadership
The owners are now preparing the next chapter of leadership and want to bring in an international executive who can lead the commercial business today and the whole company tomorrow. A newly created Group Chief Commercial Officer role is the first step on that path. The owners also want this leader to bring the governance principles and communication standards of international groups into a company that has grown large while staying in the hands of its family.
Confidential mandateFurther mandate details will be shared with qualified Interim Managers under a signed non-disclosure agreement. CE Interim publishes every mandate anonymously to protect the companies it works for.
Lead global sales and bring international standards into a family-owned group
- Lead sales, medical and marketing across markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America, with the regional heads reporting directly
- Turn a set of strong, independent country teams into one commercial organisation, while keeping what works locally
- Build the growth agenda with the COO and the owners, and make it happen market by market
- Bring an international mindset to head office and introduce the governance principles and communication standards of international groups: clear decision rights, transparent reporting and consistent communication between head office and the markets, step by step
- Act as a credible sparring partner to every country GM, earned through hands-on experience
Success is one commercial organisation and a clear path to the top role
- Within six months: one commercial agenda across all markets, a growth plan owned by the regional heads, and trust built with the owners and the COO
- At conversion: a clear decision on the permanent appointment, taken by both sides on the basis of real work together
- Over the following years: sustained growth across the markets, a stronger leadership bench, and readiness to take over as CEO
A hands-on pharma General Manager with a truly international career
- A pharmaceutical commercial leader who has run a country affiliate or a group of markets as General Manager, with full P&L responsibility
- Built the career hands-on, for example through product management, sales or medical marketing, and respects the work in the field, not only the spreadsheets
- An international career: executives who have built their careers in Germany, France or the Nordics, or elsewhere in Western Europe, and have led teams outside their home country are especially welcome
- Open-minded and pragmatic: takes the best of large-company practice and makes it work in a fast, owner-led business
- Has worked under international governance and communication standards, such as board reporting, compliance and structured internal communication, and can introduce them with respect for a family-led culture
- Balances performance with people and values. In this company, decisions are not only about profit
- Ready for a long-term commitment to the company and to life or a strong presence in the Czech Republic. Fluent English; German, French or a Nordic language a plus
