250 Interim Plant Manager (Effectivity Boost)

About Our Client:

Our client is a globally operating industrial manufacturer and innovation leader in heavy-duty equipment. The Group operates worldwide, with several production sites across Europe and a regional hub in Slovenia that supports structural assembly and manufacturing of key product components. The site, employing around 200 people, is undergoing transformation through SAP implementation and efficiency upgrades and has strategic expansion plans underway.

Project Description:

To ensure the stability and operational performance of the Slovenian plant during this critical transition phase, we are seeking an experienced Interim Plant Manager. The role focuses on driving production excellence, optimizing supply chain and logistics, and fine-tuning SAP-based processes. A key responsibility is also to support and mentor a newly appointed local manager, building leadership stability on-site. Key responsibilities:
  • Stabilize operations post-SAP implementation through clean planning, BOM accuracy, and process alignment
  • Lead production planning, warehouse organization, and internal logistics flow
  • Strengthen quality assurance and prepare the site for TÜV and regulatory audits
  • Serve as a local anchor, engaging directly with the workforce and fostering team performance
  • Act as a bridge to headquarters, ensuring transparent reporting and KPI tracking
  • Optionally: prepare for a long-term role as Plant Director or Managing Director in the region

Interim Manager Required Skills:

  • Proven track record as Plant Manager or Operations Director in industrial manufacturing (automotive, mechanical engineering, or related sectors)
  • Strong hands-on leadership with experience in small to mid-sized organizations (100–500 FTEs)
  • Demonstrated success in SAP production environments and digital shopfloor integration
  • Fluent in Slovenian is a must; German and English are highly desirable
  • High intercultural awareness, ideally with experience in Central or Southeastern Europe
  • Willingness to be on-site full-time, ideally relocating to the Radgona region
